Living for our dreams, Loving for the moment

I love when the tough construction guys working on the abandoned house next door sing at the top of their lungs to the cheesy early nineties love songs on the radio.  Priceless, my friends.

Strays and Stitches

The news from North Philly...

We found an absolutely precious puppy outside our house a few days ago.  She had no collar and was running around for a while, and we decided to take her in for now.  She's a mutt and actually looks a lot like my parent's dog, Pepper, except she's a goldish red color.  She has Pepper's super friendly personality, but she's a lot more cuddly. We're calling her Nana (like in Peter Pan) and we're all getting pretty attached...she's going to the vet tomorrow and we'll see how everything goes, but you should all really come over and visit our new little friend.  She's a darling.

Completely unrelated...I headed out for a long bike ride on this beautiful Sunday afternoon.  I got about 10 minutes from home, was about to make a right turn and tried to cut the corner through a gas station parking lot, and ended up cutting it too sharp, flying over a curb, and hitting the sidewalk face first.  I was bleeding a whole lot and at first no one would pay attention to me, but then a super generous guy with a pick up truck got me some paper towels, bought me some orange juice, threw my bike in the back of his truck and brought me home.  My housemates tried to help me patch myself up, but my chin was cut wide open and wouldn't stop bleeding, so they brought me to the E.R.  A little over 3 hours later (not bad for an E.R. in Kensington) I got sent  home with 7 stitches in my chin.  I look pretty awesome, let me tell you.

That's the most recent big news...I heard some phenomenal stories earlier this week that I'll tell you in person sometime if you remind me.  Speaking of which, there's a bar in South Philly that has story slams one Tuesday night a month, and they are crazy fun.  There's one this Tuesday, the theme for this one is Horror Stories, and if you're nearby you should come with me.  I love you guys, I'm thinking of you all a lot. Be good.

On Saturday night, a man named Carl bought me whiskey at a
neighborhood bar in honor of his 70th birthday.
C-4, was that you?
